Imagine you couldn't see.  The simplest things in life suddenly become the most intimidating.  What if you need a recipe to cook yourself a meal?  Who would help you with instructions for a new appliance?  Where would you go if you wanted to read a good book?

Blind people depend on a universal language for all their reading materials: Braille. But the blind have a limited supply of materials readily available.  Our Mission is to help blind people by transcribing a wide variety of materials into braille.  One of our main functions is transcribing Text Books for blind students attending classes with sighted peers on the elementary and secondary education levels.

Midwestern Braille also has a secondary function of  recruiting volunteers to train them to transcribe braille.
